My Long Weekend of Celebrations

I know I haven’t posted in awhile but I’m going to try to get back in the swing of things. I thought writing about this past weekend would be a good comeback. May 6th is my birthday and May 9th was my very first Mother’s Day plus it was my son’s 6 month birthday on the same day. I had a lot to celebrate and a lot of desserts at different celebrations.

My mom bought me a small cake a few days early than my birthday which was great to start with. Then my hubby bought a huge cake from my favorite bakery, “Porto’s.” Then the day before Mother’s Day, my grandma and her caretaker bought me not just another birthday cake but a Mother’s Day treat for my first mommy’s day. It was so sweet. I’m so glad I got to celebrate these special times with my family and especially my beautiful boy on his birthday!

Happy Summer Solstice

Tomorrow or Today depending what time zone you’re in is June 21st is the summer solstice also known as Litha. It is the longest day of the year! I hope everyone enjoys the solstice and all the magic, power, and energy that the sun and day provides. 

Sunday Morning Coffee Chat, Why Skincare is so IMPORTANT

Good morning everyone. It’s 8:08 am here and having my coffee out of my BRAND NEW “Fueled by Crystals and Coffee,” which is perfect and I’m so glad I found it because you all know I collect crystals and do crystal magic. I also am an avid coffee mug collector.

Today’s Sunday Morning Coffee Chat is important. You all know I have A LOT of beauty and makeup knowledge from learning things on my own, learning different products and their ingredients, working in cosmetics, etc, and it seems to me that the vast majority of younger girls and boys like teenagers/early 20’s care more about makeup than actually taking care of their skin. They don’t usually have a skincare routine, or won’t wash their makeup off before bed which is my BIGGEST MAKEUP PET PEEVE.

Here’s a perfect example, when I worked in cosmetics at Macy’s, there were two girls who one was 19 who wore so much makeup I thought she was 40 and the other girl was 20. Both of them are sweet girls, that I’m still in contact with and I’M DEFINITELY NOT BASHING THEM,  but they both always wore so much makeup to work, which makes sense because we are dealing with makeup and beauty, and one of them admitted to me she rarely ever washes her face before she goes to bed, not even with a makeup remover wipe which aren’t always the best at getting everything off either. I was very grossed out hearing that. After the two girls quit, they came into visit and neither of them had no makeup on at all and both of their faces had MASSIVE BREAKOUTS. The cause of that is mainly if not completely, not washing your face before bed and have a skincare routine. 

No matter your age, the sooner you get into a good skincare routine and learn basic skin issues like how to not cause breakouts, the better. My mom, who at 65 has beautiful skin with not botox or fillers, taught me at a very young age to always take care of my skin and if I had any breakouts, I knew how to clear them up fast because of how my mom taught me and those tips and tricks she shared with me, I still use to this day.

The last important thing about why you should always take care of your skin, which by the way, if you don’t know your skin type or don’t know how to take care of your skin, go to a dermatologist. There is nothing wrong with that, they are all over, and they don’t cost a lot to see. The last important thing is that the more your skin is fresh and clear and smooth, you won’t have to cake on the makeup as much if ever, and it will shorten your beauty routine and save your some money on makeup. Face makeup is to cover imperfections but if you don’t have any, why waste your time and money using it?

I’m Devastated

This is a brief post of how I’ve been feeling with certain events that have just happened in our world. Normally I like to keep my sites fun and positive but I can not sit here and not say anything. I’m talking about the horrendous mass shooting that a happened a few days ago at the Dar-ul-Arqam mosque temple in the San Diego County town of Escondido during Passover (One of our High Holidays) Celebration. I’m definitely going to do a video to talk more in detail about this tragic event but like I said, I need to say something. Even tho I do practice positive witchcraft, I was born Jewish and still celebrate the holidays every year. You all probably knew that if you’ve been following me for a while, seeing my husband and I in our matching Hanukah sweaters, etc.

   San Diego is barely two hours away from me and even where I live, even tho I’m in California, there has been a lot of anti-semite activity almost in my backyard which is very scary. I also have family close be me who were in the middle of the recent anti-semitism event. South of Los Angeles is very different. Orange County and passed is a lot more conservative and has a lot of different views then Los Angeles does. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing where I currently live. Newport is so beautiful and there is a good size Jewish population out here. I just wanted to explain how different an hour makes from Orange County to Los Angeles. 

I’ll definitely talk more in detail when I shoot my video but I want to end this by saying that all of us, Jewish and Non-Jewish need to stick together and stay strong and don’t let any hate crimes or fear hold us down.

50 Dollar Fashion and Style

   I’ve decided to start going to shops, mostly local shops in my area to find outfits the are stylish and fashionable for fifty dollars and under. My husband actually came up with this idea which I thought was so cute and even though many others have done similar things, I plan on putting my vintage and rock spin onto it. 

   I haven’t decided yet it I’m going to do this every week or every two weeks but I think this will be fun. My goal is to find full or mostly full outfits for under fifty dollars to show as inspiration to everyone who feels that they have to spend loads of money to be able to showcase their fashion and unique style. Every thing I show off here is something that is my style and/or that I would wear.

   I was going to one of my favorite local vintage shops but they were closed for the day. Instead I started with Target. I know Target isn’t a unique store but I thought it would be cool to include Target in my list of fifty dollar fashion since Target is an extremely popular chain that everyone has access to in their area.

The first thing that my eyes immediately went to was a pair of these cheetah print jeans. Animal print and me? Duh! Haha They cost $28.00.

   The next thing I spotted was a super cute black and red (my favorite color combo) Game of Thrones “Where are My Dragons” top for $14.00. I love that show and the “Mother of Dragons” is probably my favorite character. The next item I spotted was in the jewelry section which was near where I found both the pants and top. The next item I looked for was a cute pair of shoes to complete this look. To be perfectly honest, I really didn’t see anything that I would wear or that would go with this outfit but they did have a lot of styles that you might like to try in your Target locations so please don’t be discouraged that I didn’t find anything in the store location I went to. A lot of them were on sale as well. Instead I went to the jewelry section which was near where I found the pants and top. There I found this punk rock red “Rocky Horror” style lips necklace. It only was $6.00 so I had to get it.

After the items I found, my total plus tax was literally $50.00 so it was perfect.

I hope you all liked what I chose and also the start of something new that I’m going to be doing for Bombshell.
