2019 Halloween Haul; Michael’s

Last week, I did my first Halloween haul of the year. I was so excited to see all the new decorations and goodies that were to be available this year. I’m trying to be a little good tho and not buy everything since I already have a fabulous collection of Halloween decor; a lot of which I keep out all year round, but I like to buy at least a couple new things for my house. The first place I started out with was Michael’s and let me tell you, it was extremely hard to restrain myself, especially since I get a lot of my art supplies from there as well.

When I hit the Halloween section, I instantly got excited. When I shop for new spooky decor, I try to find unique items and things that I don’t have already. I’ve talked many times before about being a witch and that I do readings and such so I was pleased to see that they had a lot of witch and psychic style items this year. I also wanted to get another light up interactive Halloween scene. I bought my first one last year, my talking light up “Wasteland Pub,” and loved it. I even created a youtube video of it which you can see on my channel as well as my posts from last year which you can see in the link below and by using my SEARCH button here:

I saw so many cute things at Michael’s and bought some very spooky and fabulous items for some great prices and here they are. I posted all my items on my Vampira coffin towel together and then everything separately so you can see the close up details:

1. The Garden of Eaten- Since I bought the “Wasteland Pub” scene last year, it only made sense to get the “Garden of Eaten,” which matches and goes great with my Little Shop of Horrors plant.

2. Hanging Bat- I found this really cool bat that I can hang pretty much anywhere in my house. I realized I didn’t have any bat decorations so I had to pick up this little guy.

3.  Hanging Magical “Under the Moon” bottle cap sign- I love the vintage look of this piece and the fact the it’s a bottle cap shape, I thought was very cool and creative.

4. Skeleton Cheese Knives- The moment I saw these, I had to get them. One of my favorite things to make and eat is a good charcuterie plate so these will be perfect for me to use I love how they each have their own spooky words engraved on them.

5. Halloween adornments- There was a section in Michael’s that had little mini items and figurines and I found this really cool witch figure with a magical crystal ball and a psychic reading table with a skull and a matching crystal ball. I’m still deciding if I want to use these cuties in an art piece or put them around the house as little decorations.

6. White and Gray “Spooky Nights” Skull & Spider Serving Tray- You can never go wrong with a serving tray because you can use them for anything and everything. This will be perfect all year round and goes perfectly with my spooky skull cheese knives.

IMG_0609

7. Palmistry Pillow- This is another item that I bought that I’ll keep out all year round. I love the design of this and how it shows all the lines and meanings of the human hand for palm reading. It’s very comfortable as well.

These are all my items from my first Halloween haul of 2019. Make sure to start checking out stores to find your own goodies for this year’s Halloween/Samhain night.

BONUS ITEMS: I had to also share these new Halloween items. The first one are a set of Freddy Krueger sweater pillow covers that my friend made and sent to me as a gift. Everyone knows that Freddy is my favorite horror character so I was so touched and happy to get these.

The other bonus item is a super sweet skeleton wedding cake topper of Frankenstein’s Monster and his bride. I bought this for our anniversary that was last week. I thought it was so cute and a fun anniversary gift for my wonderful husband and me.

Gothic Halloween Beauty Photoshoot

I’ve been enjoying doing my spooky October posts and when my gal Sarah Mushenheim (lifewithlilred) asked to do a Halloween collaboration post, I was all too happy. Anything that has to do with Halloween makes me happy. Stay tuned for Sarah’s Halloween post coming soon as well.

The second photoshoot I did after my “Mrs. Freddy Krueger” was more of a “Spooky Sex Kitten” shoot with my custom-made vinyl cork screw boots, a black criss cross mini dress, and my sexy “bedroom wave” wig, (which by the way, I loved how I looked and wished my hair actually looked like that especially with that particular hair cut. We rotated taking both color and black and white/monochrome photographs. With my hair style and the dark makeup, I almost felt like a French or silent movie actress. I was felt very confident shooting yesterday which made it that more fun.

Since I wasn’t doing a typical Halloween shoot where you just dress up in any costume and stand there,  I came up with the idea to utilize my Halloween decorations and props in each photo. I thought the juxtaposition would look really cool and give the pictures a spooky and edgy but beautiful look. Here is my GOTHIC HALLOWEEN BEAUTY set. Hope you enjoy my photos and post and comment down below about what some of your favorite costumes have been.

The Wasteland Pub

Fall Fashion Finesse

Hello everyone. My first Autumn fashion article is a collaboration with one of my favorite girlfriends who runs “LifewithLilRed” aka the wonderful Sarah Mushenheim who I’ve done many  collaborations with, nominated eachother for blog awards, and hopefully will have her feature interview on my site too.

So for our latest collab, we can up with the idea for fall fashion looks we like. Now before you look at these, remember I live in Southern Californian so it’s not super cold here yet. But my two outfits I did a shoot with can be layered for when it gets really cold and into winter. For example, my two looks in a warm dress and the other one consists of shorts but always feel free to adding stockings, long socks like I do, etc. layering is always a good thing.

First Look:

My first fashion look is a staple for me every time it’s this season. I love my red and blue long flannel dress and I love wearing it with shorts and some heavy thigh high socks. I love boots so I’m showing my black short boots with gold sharp studs on them and a gold heel. I rocked my leather shorts which can keep me warm because of the leather and ended this look with a cool rock and roll top underneath my flannel and my music jewelry cause music is life! Enjoy look number one.

Second Look:

My second look I’ve been wanting to show for awhile is my sexy new hoodie dress. It’s the Vixxsin Black Bettie Page zipper dress which comes attached with a beautiful fitted fur hoodie. The detailing on the back is genius and definitely my style or all my eclectic taste such as pinup, rock & roll and a touch of goth. I paired this dress with my thigh high boots which are the sexiest thigh boots I’ve ever owned. But like I said in my first look, you can layer stockings under the boots or if it really cold by you, wearing thick or thermal leggings. Get created! I say that a lot in my articles but it’s true and will save you a lot of money. Thank you for reading this and enjoy my second set.

Celebrating Mabon

Hello everyone, I’m sorry I haven’t posted a lot this past week but I was really under the weather. Now I’m feeling better and excited about writing again.

Most of you who’ve been reading my blog for awhile now, you’ve probably heard me talking about when of my good friends, Sarah Mushenheim whose site is lifewithlilred.com. I met her, pretty much the first moment I started my blog and we’ve done some fun collaborations and today is another example. Sarah asked me to be a guest blogger on her page again which I always love doing, and the topic is about Autumn since we are approaching it very soon. A lot of you may know this but autumn is my favorite time of the year. Besides Halloween, which is what I look forward to the most, everything about this time of the year I love. With that said, my first post I wrote for her is called, “Celebrating Mabon.” I really enjoyed writing this because I knew it would be a unique topic. Here’s my article from Sarah’s page. Please enjoy and make sure to check out Sarah’s site. Also stay tuned for more collaborations with her.

From Lifewithlilred.com:

Hello! Today, we are going to hear a little something from my darling friend, Carlie, over at Bombshell on Celebrating Mabon. As you will read in this post, Mabon is a Pagan nature holiday that gives thanks to all things fall and it’s something that Carlie enjoys participating in. Carlie will also be back later on this month with more fall and Halloween fun so definitely keep it posted, because she’s awesome! ❤

mabon1

Autumn is my favorite time of year for many reasons. The weather starts to get cooler, I love seeing the leaves changing beautiful colors, Halloween aka Samhain, and celebrating “Mabon”.

Like Samhain, Mabon is a Pagan nature based holiday that represents the beginning of the Autumnal Equinox. It also signifies the second harvest of the calendar and promotes equality and balance. It’s a very positive time of the year where a lot of people celebrate the changing of the seasons, create their own little traditions, and enjoy nature of course.

I hope you all are looking forward to the beginning of Autumn/Mabon as much as I am. This year the Autumn Equinox begins Friday, September 21st. And, if you want to celebrate Mabon in any way, it goes from September 21st to Saturday, September 29th!

Thank you Sarah. I love you girl!
