Stories Behind my Handbags

If you go way back on my youtube channel,  I did a few videos of my handbag collection. Since then, my collection has changed and I have both new and also the some of the same purses you might have seen in the past videos. Instead of doing another handbag collection tour,  I decided to separate them in five different sections. I wanted to do this so I can better explain why I like collecting purses and hand bags so much as well as my own personal stories behind each purse.

The point of doing this is that you don’t have to have a lot of money to have beautiful purses and accessories. Even though I show two of my designer bags in one of the five sections, I never brag about the prices of anything, that’s how I was raised, and you’ll also see that most of my handbags I post aren’t all luxury designer.

1. Classic Timeless Handbags that will LAST FOREVER:

Luxury brands that  I have include Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Coach, etc. and I will cherish bags always. Even thought they were expensive, the price was worth it because these brands that make these handbags create them so they will never fall apart.

2. Vintage/Pinup?Rockabilly Purses: I love my brands like Sourpuss, Lux de Ville because they complete a gorgeous pinup and burlesque look. They are also very fashionable with everyday clothes. I remember getting my first Sourpuss purse that was giving to me for, which was amazing, at a tattoo convention I modeled at years ago in Philly. I still have that bag and cherish it. You all know I love Sourpuss clothing in general and I love the actual vinyl car interior look of my stunning Lux De Ville’ purses. I also love my Kreepsville666 pink skull purse I got for free for doing a modeling shoot for them. I love my Pinup bags.

3. Sentimental: I have purses and handbags that  I use  and will never give away such as the small red leather croc Brighton heart shaped purse I asked if I could have that as my college graduation gift. My daddy is that greatest man on earth and didn’t hesitate. I also love my ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Bettie Paige purse that my hubby bought me, spur of the moment when we stopped at Peggy Sue’s Diner on the way back from Las Vegas. I love him so much and he knew it was the perfect purse for me. One other of my most sentimental purses I own was giving to me my mommy. I have always loved Betsey Johnson fashion and my mommy gave me her very soft leopard print Betsey Johnson of New York purse on the way to New York for New Year’s years ago.

4. Evening Bags:  I have some beautiful evening bags for a beautiful night out where I don’t need to bring everything with me. My two favorites are my small “LADY GAGA, BAD ROMANCE” looking clutch which holds my Iphone, a credit card, my id, and a lipstick. I don’t need anything else. My other favorite evening bag is more vintage and was passed on to me by my mommy and it’s till in fabulous shape. It’s black and has both gold and silver jeweled slashes across which makes it my ultimate favorite and sentimental evening bag with another story behind it.

5. Purse Accessories:  I know I have touched on this before but I always recommend getting a little card holder or even a slim cigarette holder to keep your id, one card for emergencies, and a little cash. I love my coach id holder from my Aunt Linda.

See, I told you the majority of my handbags have sentimental value to them, even the accessories, and most of them all have stories behind them. I hope you enjoyed this fun look at my handbags, my favorite fashion accessory to collect, and the sentimental stories behind them.  In fashion, anything sentimental is always the best thing.

We definitely both have the classic Bettie Page essence and aura within us. I love how even though we have different hair colors and different outfits in our photos, they all go together beautifully.

Thank you Peggy for doing this with me and I simply adore you sis. xoxo

Bettie Page Collaboration with Peggy Stone, Part 1

I met Peggy Stone earlier this year. Actually I think I met her at the end of last year and we immediately hit it off. First reason was we are both published pinup models and actually have a spread in Passion Pinup’s Magazine right next to each other which was definitely kismet. The other most important thing Peggy and I have in common is that Bettie Page is both our Pinup Vintage Icon! I wish I still had my picture from high school where I was dressed like Bettie for Halloween.

It’s amazing how much Peggy and I have in common, such as her man takes a lot of her model shots like my husband does for me sometimes. I’ve even given and sold her some of my Bettie memorabilia like the matching flasks which you’ll see in part 2. We are definitely Pinup sisters.

Peggy and I text almost everyday and I love our friendship. She says I’m her big sis, even though she’s not that much younger than me, haha, and she’s my baby pinup sis. I hope she comes to California soon.

For this collaboration, we decided to do a Bettie Page double shoot. Duh! Haha! Bettie Page was such a natural beauty. She didn’t just do lingerie and fetish shoots but also more “Cheesecake Pinup” shots which I show here in my cherry looks. 🍒 For my hair, I did a beautiful wet set waves and since my Bettie bangs are grown out, I found my clip on Bettie Bangs.

Bettie was such a natural beauty. She didn’t fuss with a lot of eyeliner or heavy makeup. She just wore powder, mascara, and of course red lip stick, which I recreated in my photo sets. Here are a few of my cherry cheesecake photos but stay tuned for part 2 of this to see more sexy photos of my baby sis Peggy and me! Make sure to watch out for our matching flasks!

Fall Fashion Finesse

Hello everyone. My first Autumn fashion article is a collaboration with one of my favorite girlfriends who runs “LifewithLilRed” aka the wonderful Sarah Mushenheim who I’ve done many  collaborations with, nominated eachother for blog awards, and hopefully will have her feature interview on my site too.

So for our latest collab, we can up with the idea for fall fashion looks we like. Now before you look at these, remember I live in Southern Californian so it’s not super cold here yet. But my two outfits I did a shoot with can be layered for when it gets really cold and into winter. For example, my two looks in a warm dress and the other one consists of shorts but always feel free to adding stockings, long socks like I do, etc. layering is always a good thing.

First Look:

My first fashion look is a staple for me every time it’s this season. I love my red and blue long flannel dress and I love wearing it with shorts and some heavy thigh high socks. I love boots so I’m showing my black short boots with gold sharp studs on them and a gold heel. I rocked my leather shorts which can keep me warm because of the leather and ended this look with a cool rock and roll top underneath my flannel and my music jewelry cause music is life! Enjoy look number one.

Second Look:

My second look I’ve been wanting to show for awhile is my sexy new hoodie dress. It’s the Vixxsin Black Bettie Page zipper dress which comes attached with a beautiful fitted fur hoodie. The detailing on the back is genius and definitely my style or all my eclectic taste such as pinup, rock & roll and a touch of goth. I paired this dress with my thigh high boots which are the sexiest thigh boots I’ve ever owned. But like I said in my first look, you can layer stockings under the boots or if it really cold by you, wearing thick or thermal leggings. Get created! I say that a lot in my articles but it’s true and will save you a lot of money. Thank you for reading this and enjoy my second set.

Back to my Bettie Bangs

img_1534

I grew up having some style of bangs until I was a senior in high school where I  let them grow out. Throughout the years later I’ve been off and on with having different bang styles, from long side swept bangs, to having a vamp widow’s peak, to fringe bangs but having “Bettie Bangs,” is my favorite style. Besides the obvious vintage and pinup look reason, I also love have Bettie bangs because of the way they look on me, how they frame my face, and how they lay beautifully. Not everyone can pull off having short baby bangs so I’m very happy that I can. The lovely and talented Lizzie Sandeman from Carlton Salon in Mission Viejo did an amazing job on my hair. A huge “Thank you!,” and hug to sweet Lizzie! You can check her out on her instagram under @lizziesandeman and under @carltonhairmv

With that said, there are definitely some pros and cons to having bangs;

Cons- If you get tired of your bangs, you have to wait for them to grow out. You also have to go through that awkward “growing out,” phase if you’re wanting to get rid of them. You’ll definitely go through the stage where you can’t do much with them except let them get to a length where you can push them to the side or pin them.

The last main Con is that if your hair grows fast like mine, you’ll have to trim them frequently. If you can do it yourself, there’s no real issue. If you have to get them cut professionally, the cost can add up depending how often you need them trimmed.

Pros- With bangs, any style you do automatically looks vintage and cute. They look great with having your hair down or in an updo.

Your hair can still look polished even if it’s a mess as long as your bangs are looking good.

You can also do most pinup/vintage looks with bangs. You just have to sometimes modify them. For example, you can do your victory rolls, but they can’t incorporate short bangs and you  just have to start the rolls a little more back than if you didn’t have bangs and did your rolls on the very front of your head.

The biggest Pro is that they look absolutely fabulous!

My trip to Las Vegas

This past Wednesday, I left to take my mini jaunt to Las Vegas. Coincidentally, it was the same day that all the Southwest airline systems and computers crashed causing a horrible delay for all the flights. It was very frustrating but I managed to finally get to Vegas about three hours later then planned. When I touched down in Vegas, I immediately went to the MGM Grand Hotel to check in. After waiting in the check in line for about 45 minutes, I FINALLY got my room key. I was so exhausted and was very happy to get to my room where I watched “Deadpool,” on the movie station and ordered myself a lovely room service dinner. It was a nice relaxing evening after a long hot day of traveling which should’ve been a very short and easy trip.

The next morning, I woke up early and treated myself again to room service, a delicious breakfast then got dressed to start my day. About fifteen minutes before ten am, I took a cab over to my friend and amazing artist Dirk Vermin’s tattoo shop, “Pussykat Tattoo,” to get a new tattoo on my rib cage, which was a beautiful Bettie Page portrait that I had chosen. This was to be the highlight of my trip. It was so nice to see him and we talked for a bit before he actually got started on my piece. I had already sent him the exact image I wanted and he and I came up with a great way to do it as well as the right placement on me and look and style of it. We then got started and for the next few hours, Dirk and I had our fun ink session. A few times we had to take breaks, not because I was in a lot of pain, but because of other things, including  fans coming into to meet him, a consultation, and other things. I met some of the other artists that worked at his shop and friends which was fun. Finally about five minutes before my piece was finished, I told him I needed a break because of the pain but it ended up being perfect timing because during that time, Dirk’s fiance’ (and my new friend), Erica came in. I was so happy to finally meet her in person and I instantly loved her. We chatted for awhile and then Dirk finally finished my Bettie Banger piece which turned out beautifully. I was so happy and was immediately in love with my new ink. When we finished, Erica drove me back to my hotel.

That night, Dirk and Erica picked me up to go out and we went to the new “Wahlburgers” restaurant where I met one of Dirk’s friends who worked there who was very nice. The three of us sat the bar and had some yummy cocktails (and shots) and delicious food. I also showed my lovely Bettie off which everyone seemed to like, talked and compared stories with Erica about our men, had one of the bartenders talk to me about different psychobilly bands, and take photos. It was a really fun night and even with the 109 degree weather outside, I had an absolute blast with them. When they later dropped me off at my hotel, I fell asleep because I had an early flight back the next morning.

When I was dropped off at the airport in the morning I was really upset to learn that Southwest was still having a lot of problems and had canceled my flight home. I was able to get another one but into LAX which is not closest to where I live. On top of that, my flight was almost two hours late because of waiting for one of the flight attendants to arrive from another destination. The plane was so hot and uncomfortable that  I was glad it wasn’t a long flight. Finally when I touched down and arrived in Los Angeles and got my ride, I was so happy. It was so nice to get home after what felt like days in the airport.

Besides the airport problems I had, my mini trip to Las Vegas was a lot of fun and I was very happy I had gone out there. Getting my Bettie pinup girl and seeing and going out with my friends was definitely worth the trip. I can’t wait until Dirk and Erica come out to California next and hopefully they will get to meet my man and talk about getting him a new tattoo as well on our next Vegas vacation. A huge thank you again to Dirk!
